Dress Shopping..

For those of you that don't know,my brother is getting married this Friday. So yesterday my mom, Stacey(bride-to-be), Lacey(Colbys g/f) and myself went shopping for some clothes/wedding dress.
Yes it is the week of the wedding and still no wedding dress...haha! She just wants a formal gown since they are getting married on the top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere..haha. Yep, total redneck wedding if you ask me lol.
Who knows, she may be looking for a dress on Thursday night from the sounds of it. I will let you know what happens in the dress shopping situation....its going to be a looooong week....

The Host..

I finally finished The Host last night and I still don't know what to think. Not sure that I truly loved it. In the end it just kind of left me thinking.... I think I was glad that I was FINALLY finished. It was hard to get into, yet hard to put down. I don't know i'm kind of dissapointed but yet i'm not..lets just say my feelings for the book right now are very hard to explain.

The 4th of July

We had been planning for the 4th of July for a long time, and was really looking forward to going to Logan for the car show and cruise in. We pretty much didn't make it to either one of them because we got caught up doing other things. Heres what we did over the weekend...

  • Watched the fireworks from Amandas driveway and didn't have to fight the crowds. :)

  • Went to Becky and Karls to hang out and have a fire in their backyard.

  • Babysat Abbi all day while Carrie worked

Went to the Willow Park Zoo and while there, listened to Styx play in the park.

  • Hung out with Tim, Carrie, Quinton and Amanda...ran some errands.

  • Went to a BBQ at Becky and Karls where we were able to visit with everyone and catch up.

  • Went to the cruise in for the last 10 minutes...watched the teenagers afterwards make idiots of themselves haha!!

  • Went back to Karl and Beckys for another fire in their backyard. Thanks guys!

  • Went to lunch with Becky, visited with Steve and Diane.

  • Got ate alive by mosquitos!!!

  • Finally got to try Firehouse pizza after hearing Carly talk about it all the time.

Hope you all had a safe and Happy 4th of July!!

K-O-L-B-E-Y!!!

Today is my nehew Kolbey's 13th Birthday. Even though I don't see him as much as I want to, I love him so much!! :) He is such a sweet kid but such a daredevil too. Some of the things he does, I just want to cringe when I watch him. He loves to camp, fish, and play his all time favorite sport... baseball. Oh, and hes a pretty good golfer too. He is the youngest of my niece and nephews and growing up way to fast.

Happy Birthday Kobs!! I love you very much!!

Jordin Sparks...

Wednesday night we went to the Jordin Sparks concert at the Scera Shell. Even though I only know a couple of her songs, she did an amazing job and put on a great concert! She has a very bubbly personality and talked alot to the crowd, which I think is important. Some lucky girl got picked to go up on stage and sing the song "Tatoo" with her..Wow!! How lucky is she?

We have been going to the Shell for many years now, and we have not seen this many people there since we have been going. It is a very grassy area and it is shaped like a "bowl". It was completely full from one end to the other. I'm glad alot of people came to see her. :)

Bethie and I just waiting for the concert to start. We had a BLAST!!

Goalball Tournament...

We had a very busy part of the week last week as well as a very eventful weekend. Amanda and Quinton came and stayed with us for a few days because the International Goalball Tournament was being held at my very own American Fork High School. What an honor it was for me to have these very talented and athletic individuals be in my hometown. We spent alot of time with Manda and Quinton but unfortunately I didn't snag any photos of them...I know...I forgot! But I did get some shots of the Utah mens goalball team.
Goalball is a sport for the blind and visually impaired. You must be legally blind to play the game. The ball is like a dodgeball but probably alot heavier and it has bells inside so the players know where it is at all times. They also place tape on the floor so they know where they are at all times too. There are 3 players per team on the court at a time, and the object of the game is to try and get the ball into the goals. The player have to use their bodies to stop the ball from going into the goal. When i was watching, some of the players throw the ball pretty hard, and I'm sure it hurts when it hits them full force.
For the blind and visually impaired this is THEIR sport. It is something that they are able to do and enjoy. I really had a great time watching the games because I have never seen a game before. It got pretty intense when the Utah men were going for gold. Unfortunately Florida ended up taking gold. So maybe next time. Thanks Amanda and Quinton for sharing this sport with us. :)

to strip or not too strip...

Haha...ok so this makes me laugh! Last night before I went to weight watchers I weighed myself at home before I left to go weigh in. I knew that I lost about 2 pounds. Well at weight watchers I stepped on the scale and I lost a whopping 2.6 pounds...Yay! Go me!! This is the good part lol. I am now .4 pounds away from hitting my 10%. 10% of my body weight is what I mean. Holy Cow .4 pounds, are you kidding me!! So the leader that weighed me said, "You can take off your shirt and see if you can hit your 10%." I did have a shirt under what I was wearing so I would of been fine. But I stuttered a little, looked behind me where a line of people were standing to weigh in themselves. I decided to pass on the offer. What? Are you kidding me! I think I am crazy and should of did it anyhow, but honestly I felt very uncomfortable. It totally made me laugh and made me feel really good that the leader was trying everything in her power to get me to hit my 10%. Maybe next week......
